Lakes & Interior

Lakes & Interior covers the inland part of Montenegro, between the coast and the mountains of the north. Podgorica, the capital, and Nikšić, the second largest town, are here, as is Cetinje, the old royal capital.

Lovćen National Park rises above Cetinje, with the Njegoš Mausoleum on Jezerski vrh. Skadar Lake, the largest lake in the Balkans, is shared with Albania, and its Montenegrin part is also a national park. Near Nikšić are Krupac and Slano, two artificial lakes.
